Vitaliy Kozachenko is a commodity trading, finance and shipping lawyer, focusing on disputes. Having studied financial law in Queen Mary, University of London and banking law at Boston University, Vitaliy joined a major English law firm in Geneva, where he worked on multiple trade finance transactions and disputes. He then started his own practice, Fortior Law (www.fortiorlaw.com), where he is currently Managing Partner. Vitaliy’s trade finance work highlights include:
- Representing a major Swiss bank in a dispute under a letter of indemnity arising out of a revolving fraud allegedly committed by certain Eastern-European individuals.
- Representing a Swiss commodity trading house in a dispute with Gazprombank arising out of a trade finance facility and allegedly forged documents submitted to the bank to draw on the facility.
- Representing a Swiss commodity trader in relation to a restructuring of a trade finance facility with UniCredit.
- Representing a Ukrainian-owned trading house in a dispute with foreign investors over an allegedly dissipated trade-finance collateral.
